Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery

over 20,000 hours donated

Volunteers are an important part of the Nursery, treasured by children and staff.

**Due to COVID-19, the Nursery continues to limit the number of people in the building to reduce the potential risk of exposing unvaccinated children to germs. General child care and cook for kids volunteer shifts have not yet resumed, but there are two important volunteer options available: Grocery shoppers and Gardeners.**

As community conditions improve, we continue to take extra precautions around Covid for the safety of children, families, and staff but are able to offer limited distanced volunteer opportunities. Currently, we are looking for the following:

Grocery Shoppers: Help us ensure that kiddos staying at the Nursery continue to receive healthy, fresh meals! Sign up to purchase and deliver groceries including fresh fruits and veggies to the Nursery – flexible scheduling and item lists available. Contact Keith (kjohnson@crisisnursery.org) to learn more or sign up.

Green Thumbs Gardeners:  3-5 gardeners are needed to work with a team on Wednesdays (1-3 hours during 10 am-1 pm) to weed, plant, mow, clip, mulch and other tasks to keep our grounds looking great! Volunteers who can help out 2-4 times/month preferred. Contact Julie (jhuck@crisisnursery.org) to learn more or sign up.

Lawn Mowers: volunteers 18+ needed for a regular or occasional Wednesday 1-3 pm playground mowing shift. Contact Keith (kjohnson@crisisnursery.org) to learn more or sign up.
