MINNEAPOLIS, MN — After a thoughtful search process, the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery Board of Directors is excited to announce that Katie Fitzpatrick will join the organization as its new President and CEO, effective June 15.

Fitzpatrick is an accomplished nonprofit executive with more than two decades of experience in human services, workforce development, and community-based leadership. She also brings a deep, personal connection to the organization, having previously served as a childcare volunteer at the Crisis Nursery for six years.

“Katie’s deep understanding of the Nursery’s mission, combined with her thoughtful and values-driven leadership, resonated strongly throughout the search process. This is an exciting new chapter for the Nursery, and I’m looking forward to all that we will accomplish under her visionary leadership.” — Renu Liddell, Board Chair

“The search committee approached this process with great care and thoughtfulness, knowing how important this leadership transition is for the future of the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Katie emerged as a standout leader throughout the process, and we are excited to welcome her to the organization.” — Rhonda Cox, Search Committee Chair

Prior to joining the Crisis Nursery, Fitzpatrick served as Vice President at American Indian OIC, where she led strategy execution, operations, program oversight, compliance, and fundraising initiatives. Her extensive background in leading trauma-informed environments and her strong track record in fundraising and revenue leadership will be invaluable to the Nursery’s continued growth.

“It is an honor and a joy to join the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery as its next President and Executive Officer. As a community member, mother, and former Nursery volunteer, I know how critically important this work is, and I look forward to championing the Nursery’s next chapter.” — Katie Fitzpatrick, incoming President and CEO

“Leading this organization for the past 20 years has been the honor of my lifetime. I step down with immense pride in our team, and I am confident that the Nursery will thrive under Katie’s visionary leadership.” — Mary Pat Lee, Retiring Executive Director

This leadership transition follows a thoughtful and deliberate process led by the Crisis Nursery Board and supported by Ballinger | Leafblad, an executive search firm dedicated to serving the civic sector and partnering with nonprofits and foundations to identify and recruit exceptional leaders.
