Timing Matters
Abuse and neglect are direct outcomes of situations where individuals feel out of control, overwhelmed, and invisible.
The quotes and stories about our Residential Child Care, Family Services, and 4th Day Program, reinforce that the Nursery is here to ensure that children are kept safe by treating families with dignity, removing barriers to success, and enabling individuals to be heard.
Times of crisis can lead to positive change when individual needs, large or small, are met with competent compassion.
How Do You Define Results?
Sometimes a positive result is marked by significant achievements like escaping an abusive relationship, obtaining gainful employment, or locating a new place to live.
Other times success takes the form of completing tasks and participating in activities that many of us take for granted: keeping a medical appointment without having to spend 20% of the week's wages on child care, getting some sleep for the first time in a week in order to have energy to tackle the day, or even just having time to do household chores and process recent events.
In short, our families define what success means to them. It is our job to empower and to walk along side the entire family as they pursue positive change.
