From Infant Formula to Professional Services
In addition to the need for all of the child-related items found in our monthly Wish List, the Nursery has needs similar to those of any small business in the areas of technology, graphic design and operations support.
We recognize that corporate philanthropy can be mutually beneficial and demonstrate this by deliberately seeking mission-focused collaborations whenever possible.
Practical Example
As part of a corporate philanthropy program, Rhumbline Partners, Inc. approached Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery with a proposal to redesign and implement a new web site for the Nursery at deeply discounted rates.
While the Nursery recognized significant need in this area, budget dollars were simply not available to fund the project. After a bit of creative collaboration, the two organizations decided to partner and continue with a pro bono initiative in exchange for pragmatic networking opportunities with the Nursery's board and a willingness to tell the story to anyone that asks about the site.
The result of the collaboration is improved communication capabilities for Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, increased visibility for Rhumbline, and, most importantly, tangible tools focused on enabling the Nursery to serve more children in our community.
"We firmly believe that our services will further the Nursery's mission in our community and that's the core reason we're here.
The take-away for Rhumbline is much larger than a professional networking exercise. Implementing a new site for the Nursery allows us to align our values with the skills and resources we've been given - an opportunity that is both rare and truly beneficial to all involved."
- Dean Anderson, Co-Founder and Managing Principal, Rhumbline Partners, Inc.
